As a self-employed person you may be eligible to claim, license and registration fees, fuel and oil costs, insurance, interest on money borrowed to buy a motor vehicle, maintenance, repairs, and l easing costs. You should keep in mind though that you should track when you use the vehicle for business and personal use since you can only deduct business-related expenses and not personal ones. If you'd like to know more about claiming automobile expenses and what motor vehicle expenses self-employed people can claim, here are two great TurboTax articles.
