Can local truck drivers claim meals?

In order to qualify for the meal expense claim, you regularly have to travel away from the municipality and the metropolitan area (if there is one) where your employer’s relevant establishment (home terminal) is located. You also must be away for a minimum of 12 hours in order to claim any meals and your employer must issue you a signed TL2 form stating this.

Most local truck or courier drivers do not qualify for the meal expense deduction.
