Do my wife and I both file for the first time homeowners' tax credit? We bought our first house jointly in 2017.

The maximum amount that can be claimed for the first time homeowners credit is $5000.  You can choose to split this any way between yourself and your wife but the total claimed cannot be more than $5000.
