Hello, I work part time at home but I rent my home. Can I claim any of my rent?

I work part time at home and use the office to prepare and hold meetings there but the home I have I am renting. I do not own this property. Am I able to claim any of the rent I pay?

Hi there,

Thank you for your question. In order to claim home office expenses as an employee, your employer must complete a T2200 for you. However, if you are self-employed, you do not need to complete this form. 

You can claim home office expenses (rent or utilities) provided:
