How do you confirm your net capital loss from previous years is applied by turbo tax on line 253?

You will need to first ensure that you have a taxable capital gain on line 127 that is equal to or greater than the amount that you wish to claim as a net capital loss carryforward on line 253.

You can view these details on the Detailed Tax Summary section of your return.
