How to fill foreign income?

I moved back to Canada from Poland and became a tax resident on Feb 9, 2017.  Since then I work in Canada. I had employment income in Poland and rental income in Canada in Jan 2017.  Where shall I fill in them? under Contact info, residency, Income from Foreign sources, plus Canadian sourced Part XIII income or employment income T-slip, foreign?  I can't enter country name under T-slip foreign.

Also where can I fill in the expenses for the rental income when I was in Poland, Jan 2017?

There are a few factors to take into consideration before filing your Canadian tax return:

  • Your residency status when filing a Canadian Tax Return.

  • Then because we have a tax treaty with Poland which prevents us from being double taxed

How do I enter foreign income that is subject to a tax treaty?

  • As for your rental property abroad, you will need the T1135, Foreign Income Verification Statement

To be found under Income > Other Income Sources > Foreign Income Verification Statement (T1135).

Follow the instructions on the Foreign Income Verification Statement (T1135) screens to enter your information.
