I didn't pay rent but still want the basic trillium benefit. I try to apply for it in turbo tax but it won't file my return without entering information about rent paid.

In order to claim the Ontario Trillium Benefit, you must either claim rent payments or property tax paid.

Even if a person doesn't pay rent or property taxes they still qualify for a 304$ trillium cheque for the year.
