I got Error saying I have not entered the number of years you designated the property(s) as your principal residence.

I changed my old principal residence to a rental property in 2022.

So I filed 'Sale of principal residence' according to CRA 'Change of Use' also considered as a sale.

But I got this error: You have reported the sale of your principal residence(s) but have not entered the number of years you designated the property(s) as your principal residence.

I don't understand, I don't see any where to put that information?? All Turbotax asked was

- 'xxx principal residence for'

- 'Proceeds of disposition'

- adjusted cost base

 year of acquisition

What am I missing here???? How can I get rid of that error

I am receiving an error message that I must fix the sale of my property.  When I go into the forms I have already entered the information. Why am I getting this message?

If you are using TurboTax online we suggest deleting the entry in regards to the principal residence and entering it again.

If you are using TurboTax desktop please verify in forms mode the T2091 and verify line 1 and/or 2, the amount of years should show on line 4 as well as 5 and/or 6. If that does not work, we suggest using the EasyStep mode to complete the form under Income and Expenses >> Principal Residence.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
