I'm a canadian citizen living full time in canada. Part of my income is made from commission selling digital products on a US website. How do I calculate these taxes?

I do get paid in US dollars.

You will need to report this income in Canadian Dollars by going to the:

  • Income Tab
  • Self Employment
  • Business & Professional Activities
  • Other Type of Business (Industry Code 454110 is suitable)
  • on the page - Other Information About Your Business, check off the bottom box about websites/pages.
  • complete the following page asking for http://'s and the remainder of the T2125 Statement as you would for any business.

Here is a CRA link regarding E-Commerce:   http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/bsnss/tpcs/cmm/cmmrc-eng.html

and the CRA approved Currency Conversion:     http://www.bankofcanada.ca/rates/exchange/10-year-converter/
