I rented a 2 bdr apartment for first 8 months of the year. I then purchased a home. How can I input the information into turbotax?

If this is your first time purchasing a home, you may claim up to $5,000 as a non-refundable tax credit.

 

To do this, log into your TurboTax account and type in "first time home buyers' amount" in the find section. Then, confirm that you want to claim the home buyer's amount for 2020. From there, you can enter the credit for a maximum of $5,000 per household.
