If I rent out my principal residence and move to another home, is that considered a sale of my principal residence?

It would be considered a "deemed disposition". Even though you still own the property, since it's no longer your principal residence, you would still need to report it as if you had sold it. This FAQ tells you how to report the sale of your home (principal residence) in TurboTax: https://turbotax.community.intuit.ca/community/tax-topics/help/how-do-i-report-the-sale-of-my-home-principal-residence/00/873724
