If I "write off" my rent (I am self-employed), do I receive money back or a tax credit?

I am a self-employed accountant and student which means I already have tax credits. I am interested in getting money back on my rent from my taxes.

The rent paid does not contribute to the income tax refund.  However it is used to determine the amount of Ontario Trillium Benefit that you may  receive.

The Ontario trillium benefit (OTB) is the combined payment of the Ontario energy and property tax credit, the Northern Ontario energy credit, and the Ontario sales tax credit. The annual OTB entitlement is usually divided by 12 and the payments issued monthly.
