We purchased a rental income property this year and purchased a few tools to help repair the house. Wher3 do I claim th3 tool expenses?

If you are not a contractor or self-employed then there is no way to claim tools purchased to repair the house.

If your intention is to earn income and you need tools to earn income (purchase tools to make renovations) claim the tools . I see these as a legitimate expense no less than office supplies In a office. If they are relatively inexpensive lump them under a suitable heading in the expense section . Document everything you do with a written explanation explaining why you did what for your own records. Sure helps months or years later when you are in need of remembering. You can always phone the revenue Canada information tax line to clarify questions,  they are really helpful and it's free to ask.
