Self employed and leased truck in 2016 worth $72k. It is a F350 to pull a heavy trailer. Is this really classified as a passenger vehicle with a limit of only $30,000?

If you purchased it, it would be a class 10 vehicle, not a class 10.1.  Since you are leasing the vehicle, the question is moot as you cannot add a leased vehicle as an asset.  You would claim the amount of the lease instead.
