T5008 - adding securities... for "Type of Income" how do I know whether to enter "Capital Gains" or "Investment"? (securities = bond, dividend, market pools)

You have capital gains when you sell something, like a stock or a bond.

 

You have an investment when you earn money from something you own, like interest from a bank or dividends from a stock.
