The question that asks, Did you dispose of a property in 2016 that was your principal residence for any of the period that you owned it, does this means if I sold my hous

does dispose mean sell and does principal residence refer to the house that I lived in

Yes this question is referring to a home you lived in or a cottage you are "Designating" as your home (in most cases).
