Vacant rental property for sale

I had a rental property with tenants for January until end of April 2019. On May 1st I put the property up for sale & it sat vacant for the rest of the year. Would the property still be classed as a rental, & would I be able to claim expenses on it once it was vacant?

Yes. Because it was a rental property for part of the year and you did not change the use of it. You will be able to claim expenses for the whole period.

I hope this was helpful
