What percentage am I allowed to claim for medical expenses and is it beneficial to claim on a lower net income?
You can claim any Medical Expenses that exceed 3% of your net income. It is usually more beneficial to claim on the lower net income spouse as this 3% threshold is lower, but the claim will not reduce your tax payable if the net income is below $11,635.
