If you live in Manitoba, you can enter the Manitoba Education Property Tax Credit in TurboTax Online like this:

1. Under the “Provincial” tab, select “Provincial Tax Credit Profile”.

2. Check off “Education Property Tax Credit (Rent Paid)” and then click on the “Continue” button.

3. When you reach the “Education Property Tax Credit” page, click the “Add New for [NAME]” button.

If you are in Ontario, you can add your rent payments as part of your application for the Ontario Trillium Benefit.

1. Select “Provincial Tax Credit Profile” under the “Provincial” tab.

2. Click on the “Continue” button until you get to the “You may qualify for the 2018 Ontario Trillium Benefit” page.

3. Answer “Yes” to any question that applies to you, and click on the “Continue” button.

4. You can enter your rent and other information on the “Payments Related to your Principal Residence” page.

Under "Amount paid in 2021" Do you write the total amount paid for the whole year or the amount you paid monthly?
