How do I attach the form: Deemed Disposition of Property by an Emigrant of Canada , to my Netfile using Turbo Tax? Or do I have to print out my return and mail it?

This form isn't included in Turbotax and must be sent separately.  Do I still Netfile and just mail that form separately?

Unfortunately, these forms are not available in TurboTax. You can, however, download them from the Canada Revenue Agency CRA's website.

T1243 Deemed Disposition of Property by an Emigrant of Canada: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/forms-publications/forms/t1243.html

T1161 List of Properties by an Emigrant of Canada: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/forms-publications/forms/t1161.html

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

I understand that I have to print out those forms.

Does this mean I can NOT use Netfile and that I have to mail in my whole tax package with those forms?

If you are an emigrant or non-resident of Canada, you won't be able to NETFILE your return. You can mail or fax your return. This CRA page has info on where you can send your return: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/corporate/contact-information/where-mail-your-paper-t1-retur...

I just recently asked that question:

Here is the answer in my own words:

If you are a Canadian Non-Resident you can NOT use netfile.

So now you have 3 options I believe:

1) mail it in from where you are

2) Fax it in (yes they are still taking faxes for 2022 taxes but maybe not next year)

(and i have the link with numbers somewhere if somebody asks)

3) Fill it out your taxes, with the deemed forms, email to a "really" good friend in Canada, have them print it and mail it for you.
