With Netfile closed until Feb 22nd, how do I file a prior year return before then? Complete it here on turbotax and then print and mail in? Does that work?

Depending on what year you are filing for, you may need to print & mail your return, as the CRA only accepts the last four years with their NETFILE service.

If you are working on a return for a year where NETFILE is still available (2017 and later), you can still print out and mail your return. However, it takes much longer for the CRA to process returns that are mailed in. So, depending on your situation, it may be a better idea to wait until the NETFILE services are re-opened on Monday, February 22, 2021 and file electronically.

Instructions on how to save and print a bar code copy of your return to mail to the CRA in TurboTax Online:

• Click on the “Find” icon in the top right and search for “CRA”.
• Select “CRA Online Mail” from the list, then click the “Go” button.
• Continue from this point to get to the Filing Hub where you will get a “Print & Mail Your Return(s)” button. You may need to run the review to get to that page, if you haven’t already done so.
