My tax 2025 and 2024 are nearly identical for income and deductions, but according to Turbotax I owe 10% of my take-home pay. What changed so drastically?

Same problem can't file taxes with netfile due to this software error. Thanks Intuit. Next time I'll just find an accountant.

Ending CPP contributions on self employed earnings

I am doing a friends income tax. She turned 70 in March of 2025. She has not made an election prior to now. She has some self employed earnings. I indicated on Schedule 8 that she wished to stop contributing in January. So why am I getting a fix error. I cannot see where the error is coming from.

So every time I pay for a premium service for turbo tax I ask for help. But the bot sends a message that someone will call in 5 minutes and I never recieve a call.

But the funny thing is that I get an email asking to fill the survey how the call went with the agent. So how to sue Turbo tax for this mischief? Same thing happened last year as well.

Is there any way the software developers can update the desktop version to accept longer characters?

Or I might try to go for online version, but I like the desktop version (I use enterprise).

I have a client in the same situation. She only has self-employed income, reached 65 years old in 2025, did not get CPP payment. So, from reading the Moderator's explanation, electing to stop CPP contribution for 2025 via the 2025 tax return is NOT an option since she did not receive any CPP payment.

So, my question is if she does want to stop CPP contribution on her self-employed income, does she have to first apply to receive CPP payment and then hopefully when filing the 2026 tax return, she can elect to stop the CPP contribution? Any response & guideance would be appreciated. Thanks

I can't find my little card with my licence code for my 2020 Turbotax software, Why does the software is asking for the licence code again when I install that software before.

Unfortunately, there is no way to increase the amount of characters that TurboTax Desktop will accept in the first name field.

If you don't want to mail in your Quebec return, you can contact Revenu Québec and see if you can adjust your name in their files - maybe move part of your first name into the middle name section?

FYI: TurboTax Online allows 30 characters for the first name.

I see that you have already used and paid for TurboTax Premier Online 2025. That's the same product you used last year. Are you trying to make another return with a Deluxe version?

When you are on the page where it shows what you used last year, scroll to the bottom & click on "See all TurboTax Products" to select a different product.
