There is a carry forward amount on my use-of-home expenses, but my income is not high enough to use this year. Can it be transferred to my husband?

Wondering if I need to do a manual conversion for T5s and T5008s for US accounts imported from CRA, or if TurboTax handles that. If I do, what is the best practice for this? A) Use an average rate for the year, B) Use the daily rate for each transaction, or C) Something else.

On the page "let's get your tax info from the CRA", so before user click on the import button, there should be a warning to tell user to verify imported forms to make sure it has all expected data and that the data is correct. I found that some imported forms were incomplete for me this year.

Also, the existing warning "<PARTNER NAME> might be still logged in" is confusing because it suggests that the TT is fairly sure that your partner is logged into the CRA at the moment. Instead it should say: "<PARTNER NAME> must not be logged in the CRA for your import to work properly."

Can I create a new account and import tax info from a previous account?

LTD - Long Term Disability - Need to Claim as Income or Not?

My spouse was an employee of Sun Life who went on Short-Term then Long-Term Disability.

The Short-Term Disability amounts do appear to get the usual tax deductions while the Long-Term Disability does not appear have federal/provincial taxes deducted showing a balance of zero tax deducted.

Does this mean spouse will need to claim the 2 months (Nov-Dec) of LTD amounts as income and if so - whereabouts on the Turbo Tax would we indicate this amount.

Filed 2024 via TurboTax Online (no backup, only PDF). Now using Desktop (Costco license activated)—can’t import prior year. How to transfer data?

I am going absolutely bonkers. I have tried 32 times to "start my tax return" and each time the online version attempts to transfer last year's data, I get an error message with a stupid puppy. I have called 3 times and had extremely lengthy conversations and done all the things and still no luck. Nobody who works at turbo tax is able to help me and now I am ready to say screw it and find a new program. I have 2 self-employed returns to do and we are a family of 6, and all the info from years past is in the online version. How do I get this imported properly without having to re-add it all myself?

Hello,

I have (7) T3 and (5) T5, but when I try to import them from CRA, Turbotax only imports a single T3 and a single T5. I tried different browser, but no luck. It seems it's only importing the T3/T5 at the top of the list in my CRA account and ignoring the rest.

I did try to import my tax information using another software (Studiotax), and it had no issue importing all of my T3 and T5. So I think Turbotax might be the problem.

Please advise, thank you
