Cannot submit tax declaration

Hello Folks,

I was able to sucsessfully submit my tax declaration, but I cannot do it for my wife (she had 0 income).

Federal + Quebec

Federal -> I want to submit using mail and NETFILE -> grey out

Quebec -> I want to submit QuebecNetFile is grey out, but to print and mail cannot select it.

Could you please advise how I can resolve it?

Please verify that none of the forms you are using are locked: TurboTax FAQ: Why does TurboTax say my forms are locked or haven't been finalized?

If you are not using any locked forms, we suggest you to contact our Product support team. They have access to tools we don't have here in Community, like screenshare to investigate this issue for you.

How to check if the form used (in my return) and locked?

You can go over the return and see if anything you entered is related to the locked forms. Most of them are Capital Gains/Loss related.

Also, some people in Quebec are having problems filing if they have a T3 or T5 slip on their return. Our development them is working on resolving that issue, ASAP.

If you are not using any of the locked forms Please try clearing the unneeded form and then closing unused forms. You can find those options under Edit>Forms in the top menu.

@Brian1953 All the locked forms will be unlocked and ready by the 20th of March, 2025, and you will be able to print/save/Netfile. We appreciate your patience.

@snoob As per our FAQ, some forms are still being finalized. The ETA for all forms to be unlocked is early March 2026.

It's now the middle of March. I am having the same issue, the Netfile option for Quebec is greyed out. Do you have any updates on this? Is there some way for me to be notified whenever this form is finalized so that I can file my taxes?!?

All forms are unlocked except for the Quebec form TP-726.7, which as per the FAQ will be available in early April.

If you are using TurboTax Desktop, please update your software. If you are in Quebec, go into Forms mode and look to see if any forms that you don't need are open. If you do see one that you don't need, choose Edit > Forms > Clear Current Form, then Edit > Forms > Close Unused Forms to get rid of it.

If you are using TurboTax Do It Yourself (Online), please clear your browser cache (or use a different browser) and try again.

The problem is that Turbotax keeps filling in the name and SIN on the TP-726.7 which we do NOT need. The form is blank/filled with 0's. I never indicated anything that relates to capital gains pertaining to selling a property, and yet this form won't go away.

I followed your instructions, but clearing the form does not remove the name and SIN, and closing unused forms does NOT remove the form. In fact, even if I override the name and SIN fields and empty them, the form still does not close. I still can't file our Quebec returns.

Yes there are several other forms which seem empty or filled with 0's. I don't know when/why they were opened. None of them actually close using the 'close unused forms' function. It seems to do nothing.

EDIT: I found it. There was a form for flipped properties which was set to "No" at the top (I didn't buy or sell or flip anything last year) and somehow that cascaded into the unfinished (draft) form from the FAQ remaining open. Once I cleared and closed the other form the others disappeared and I can file now. Thank you!
