Can you clarify why you think it is an online version? Did you download TurboTax Premier from here? This year TurboTax Desktop will ask you to sign in or create an account.

I had the same problem. I had already opened an on line account but I decided I wanted the desktop version. I could not access the Desktop version. TT kept sending me to the On-line version. I called TT. It took an agent 30 minutes to fix it. He said I was lucky. It took him over an hour with others who had the same problem. Inuit should fix this problem.
