Though we recommend using Windows 11, the Canadian version of TurboTax Desktop 2025 will run on Windows 10. Please see this TurboTax Canada FAQ for more information: How does the end of support for Windows 10 affect my TurboTax Desktop experience?

We currently sell TurboTax Desktop 2019 & onwards, so those years should work with Windows 11. Older years' software might still work with Windows 11, but we no longer support those years so we can't say for sure.

Today I saw both the standard version and the on line version for sale in Costco.

My question is if I am running windows 10, I can't install and run the standard version on the local computer, correct?

If using the online version, is that means I will not have the tax files on my local computer?

Please advice.

As I said previously, the Canadian versions of TurboTax Desktop 2025 will run on Windows 10 - this includes Basic, Standard, Premier, & Home & Business.

If you use TurboTax Online, the return files will be saved on our secure servers, but you can save a PDF copy of your return to your computer, as well as a version that you can print and mail to the CRA if you don't file using NETFILE.

This sounds like a dumb question, but right on the box it says " requires windows 11".

Please advice.

Originally we were only going to support Windows 11 for tax year 2025, but this was changed at the last minute due to customer feedback. The boxes were made before this change happened.
