To start a joint return (or a coupled return) in TurboTax Online Canada, you don’t actually open one shared file. Instead, the software creates two separate returns that are linked together so you can swap information and optimize credits between you and your partner.

Once you go through the first few pages, the software will ask, "Who are you preparing this return for?" Choose 'My spouse/partner and me " to start a joint return.
