When will 2024 Turbotax Canada desktop software be available?

I cannot find the 2024 desktop version of Turbotax Canada software anywhere (online or in stores). The Turbotax.ca website will only let me buy last year's version (2023). When will the 2024 version become available to purchase?

Thanks for the update TurboTaxBrenda.

But can you guarantee that it will be available by Friday December 20th, 2024 (end of next week)? That's cutting it a bit close to use Turbotax to do some last minute tax planning. Odds are there will be further delays that will push the software release in to 2025.

I may just go ahead an find another tax software program. It might be time. Unless you can guarantee it.

This is excellent news TurboTaxBrenda.

Your intuitive interface is ideal in comparison to the other options and I feel that Turbo Tax T2 corporate edition is worth waiting for. Thank you for all your hard work this year; your doing a good job.

when I went to purchase the 2024 tax year last week, it did not tell me that it was the 2023 version available and I purchased it, thinking that it was the 2024 version. When I started the program was the first time anything told me it was the 2023 version, which I already own, and used. I got my money back, but, would like to be sure that the 2024 version is the one that is available on the 20th.

Hey @joenflo80,

The only way I know of to see the TurboTax year is to put it in the shopping basket on the TurboTax website and look at the items in my basket. Only then will it display the version (year) being purchased. More than a little annoying. Then just make sure to remove it ....

Hopefully the new version will show up this week!

The 2024 version of Turbotax Canada is now available (today Dec 16 2024) on the Turbotax website and also at Costco (desktop s/w download). Costco is cheaper. The turbotax website would not let me finish the purchase though. I was able to put Turbotax 2024 desktop in my shopping basket but when I logged in to Intuit.turbotax.ca I was directed to the online tax return website and could not find my way back to my shopping basket. So I simply bought it online from Costco.ca and now have it installed and active on my PC.

I downloaded my software but cannot find anywhere to pay for it (nor does the website specify pricing???) and would like to pay to get an activation code. How is this done?

Why is there no phone or email contact info. This level of customer service os POOR (substituted for vernacular)).

Turbotax no longer offers a CD version of the desktop software. Your best bet is to download the software file to a USB thumb drive (or somewhere on your computer you can find, or to your cloud storage) and use that to store the installable file. Each year going forward, you'll have to do that.

@jack01949 CDs are no longer available from us. We offer the same desktop version, which you can get by clicking on a link. The CDs have been discontinued because new devices no longer have CD-ROMs.

Well for us that still use them? I got an external drive cd/DVD. drive from amazon! for $20. Someone at your company took my $10. I had to buy your download, and I paid to get a cd copy of it! Now when I pay good money for some thing I expect to be able to reinstall it at my convenance, not yours! I do my taxes then delete it off my laptop! Before I just used the DVD to do them! So you people are always saving a dime at our expense! But Iwill go where I can get a cd copy! BYE!
