Good day, the defect with TTO is not addressed. I still have no idea when it will be resolved.

Due to the bugs in your software, I decided to use another net file software which worked lovely and I was able to submit my taxes.

Just fyi, the issue I was experiencing is NOT fixed…just tried it again to close this loop with you. because you want it to be fixed doesn’t make it so… lol

Like I said, it doesn’t matter to me as I found a different software that worked for me, but if anyone is trying to report short term rental expenses through TTO on form T776, there are problems … calculations are using the total expenses values and should instead be using the values as entered within the’ Portion of expenses from short term rentals’ column.

Tried the T776 day before yesterday, I see the same issue that form is using Total Expense instead of short-term renal portion expense, when calculating the Net Income. The issue is still there as of 2026-04-18.

For anyone who comes here expecting to get some help:

I had a chat with TurboTax product team on Facebook messenger. They confirmed that T776 has mentioned the following on the top:

Include only the rental expense portion in this section, do not include any personal portion of these expenses.

That means, even if the form has two columns, "Total expenses", and "Portion of expenses from short-term rentals", we are supposed to be entering only portion expense in both columns. No need to add Total expense which appl to who residence in this form. This way, the form will calculate the net rental income properly.
