topic Half-year rule for class 12: non-system software in Self-employed

Hello everyone:

I wish to add non-system computer software to class 12. Software is subject to the half-year rule (even under $500 as far as I can tell). Small tools under $500 are not subject to half-year rule. As my software purchase is under $500 it appears that TurboTax automatically assumes the CCA addition in class 12 is not subject to the half-year rule. How do I fix this behaviour in TurboTax and correctly include the half-year rule for computer software in class 12?

thank you

As per CRA, include in Class 12 with a CCA rate of 100% computer software that is not systems software. Software in Class 12 is subject to the half-year rule. Class 12 specifically excludes electronic communication devices and electronic data processing equipment.

We can propose you a callback from phone support to assist you in live with this question.
