It won't let me file my return because it says that my return includes tuition transfer. I do not want to transfer any of my tuition amount to my spouse. How do I fix it?

Can you please provide more information about your problem? What is the exact error message that you are getting? Are you using TurboTax Desktop or TurboTax Online?

Hello,

I am using Turbo Tax Online. The error that I am getting is attached below. The issue is that I don't want to transfer any of my tuition amount to my spouse. She has no income so it won't make a difference to her return. I can't figure out how to remove any tuition transfer so that I can file our returns without upgrading.

Please make sure that your return is selected at the top, then search for "Student" and then make sure that "Transfer of tuition and education to a spouse, parent or grandparent" is not checked.

I've done that multiple times and "Transfer of tuition and education to a spouse, parent or grandparent" is not checked. Please see the photo attached.

Hi, im also facing the same issue. the option Transfer oftuition to a spouse, parent or grandparent is unchecked and still im being forced to upgrade.
