Payments Related to your Principal Residence

Under the "number of months" field, do I put in the number of months total lived in a residence or simply the year? Say I've lived there for 19 months, would I input 12 anyway?
Further, with the total paid in 2024 field, would I put in what I paid for those 12 months alone or the total 19?

Sounds pretty straight forward but I just want some certainty.

You would enter the total number of months that you lived there during the tax year, and the amount you paid during the tax year.
