I purchased a 15 license home and business software desktop turbo tax purchased from costco.

I only need one license. I want to give 5 to someone else. I already registered this box under my name on one computer. When I try to install this on my roommate computer, Error showing this license is associated to other account when my roommate uses his account.

If I use my credentials will it approve this license for my roommate to used?

If I use my credentials to install and approve the license will they see my tax return information?

Any cons of doing this if this works?

For next year, is there is single copy of the desktop version of home and business to avoid this issue?

TurboTax Home & Business 12 returns Desktop version can be downloaded up to 3 computers. You can install it on your friend's computer by logging into your account. You will use your credentials just to download the software.

Make sure to log out of your account afterwards. They will not have access to your Tax returns or another information & vice versa.

You can use TurboTax Online Version next year and pay per return for a single return.

@dsychan0071 No. All our Desktop products come with multiple returns. If you only need a single return, you can use TurboTax Online, which allows you to pay per return.
