Can't save or print or Netfile Quebec return due to locked form TP-726.6.

There is a thread on the French TurboTax community forum that discusses the issue of the TP-726.6 form blocking the 2024 Quebec declaration from being saved as a .PDF file, or printed, or Netfiled. TurboTax is aware of the problem and has posted that a solution may be available during the first week of March. At first I thought my application was corrupted and I was prepared to over-install a new version on my PC. Then I moved my data file to another computer loaded with TurboTax in a different official language and I got the same error there. TP-726.6 (and T936) concerns Cumulative Net Investment Losses, in which past and present interest and investment income/expenses play an intrinsic role. If in 2024 and/or before, you had interest income reported via a T5 or RL3 slip, then TurboTax has likely added a locked TP-726.6 (or T936) form to your 2024 return. I imagine that recent changes to the tax rules concerning capital gains are responsible for previously certified forms being locked and now needing to be re-certified by the tax departments.

Is there an ETA as to when Turbotax will be updated with the proper forms. No problems filing tax returns with another Canadian software with forms that Turbotax has locked preventing netfile.

After speaking with the CRA, they have indicated that it is a TurboTax software issue.

I have used Turbo Tax to file all my family members returns for a very long time. UFile Canada Tax software is not having this issue whatsoever. May just be last year of using TurboTax sadly. It has been so dependable up to now.

The moderator (Brenda1) on the French forum for TurboTax has claimed today that the correction will be available in the afternoon of March 6.

TurboTax is not the only commercial software package that has difficulties submitting declarations due to the capital gains form being locked. I did a Google search this morning and discovered that a competitor (who I won't name but is already referred to in an above post) is also being blocked from printing a declaration or submitting it electronically. Apparently the C.R.A. must first re-certify the changes to the software.

Does turbotax realize that by delaying releasing these forms that they are potentially delaying not only refunds but also the carbon rebate that is due in April! That could affect hundreds of thousands of Canadians!

The Bloomberg news website published on March 4 an interview between a CTV network journalist and a spokesperson with the C.R.A., where the spokesperson suggested that the C.R.A. might not be ready to accept NetFile declarations containing capital gains data before mid-March/end-March.

I have no idea how fast Revenue Quebec is working to be in the same position as the C.R.A.

I don't have capital gains to declare, so my return was not blocked by a locked Schedule 3, only by a locked TP-726.6 form.

Today, I downloaded the new version of TurboTax and I was able to submit my return by Netfile to the CRA and Rev Que.

And my TP-926.6 was also included in my saved PDF copy, so I consider that 100% of my return remained intact without anyone having fudged it as an unofficial workaround.

I will be back next year.

Why does Turbo Tax repeat the same mistake year after year and us, Québec residents have to wait to file our Provincial Tax returns because the Capital gains deduction form presented in DRAFT mode is stiill integrated to our final return and prevents the filing ?

We can't even erase the file if it does not apply to us (Like in my case). Every year this happens and, if we have an amount due to us, we cannot receive it because the net file is locked as the form presented by Turbo Tax has not been accepted by the Quebec Government (https://turbotax.community.intuit.ca/turbotax-support/en-ca/help-article/tax-return/turbotax-say-forms-locked-finalized/L9h4thZZJ_CA_en_CA Tp-726.7 link in 2026).

Why not just learn from their mistake and not repeat the mistake year after year ? I wonder if we were to charge Turbo Tax interest on our delayed credit amount if it would break this vicious circle ?.

I for one am fed up with this and will not be using the Turbo Tax software next year
