Filled out T1198 with 3 previous years, however receiving error msg : The breakdown of principal (total of boxes 68520 through 68560) must equal the total principal amount (box 68519). Triple checked the amount, and they are actually adding up correctly. Bug in the system??

For Tax Year 2024, T1198 is still locked by CRA and not finalized yet CRA. Please refer to this link Why does TurboTax say my forms are locked or haven't been finalized?

We do not have any ETA on this yet but as soon a these forms gets finalize we will be updating them in TurboTax for an accurate calculations.

This didn’t help - the error message does not say the forms are locked or not finalized. It is saying “the breakdown of principle (total of boxes 68520 through 68560) must equal the total principle amount (box 68519)”. The form worked fine for my return, not working for some reason for my spouses’ - seems to be a software issue, not a math or entry error, as they manually add up correctly.

The form is not finalized yet and that is why there is an issue with the calculation. We suggest you to contact our Product support team.
