line 67 being added to line 14

Hello all,

I was transferred to a different company when my department was sold and given a severance package. This transition happened in early march of last year. Once I got my T4 the line 14 included both the amount I was paid from Jan to the date the sale occurred plus the severance amount. Additionally the severance amount was shown on line 67 on my T4.

When I enter these values into turbotax it adds them together and shows my over all income to be much larger (doubling my severance amount) then is reality.

how do I fix this.

It appears your employer has made a mistake on this T4 slip. Box 67 will transfer to the T1 General Line 130—Other Income, whereas Box 14 is entered on Line 101—Employment Income.

In order to fix this, you'll need to contact the employer and have them issue you an "amended T4". A copy of this amended slip also needs to be submitted to CRA.
