it says we have to claim it every year. so why did the program leave it blank?

At the Claim Dependant Credits screen, check the box for Disability amount transfer.
At the Disability Transfer screen, select Yes.
At the Tax home screen, if you select View detailed summary, you’ll see the transferred amount at Line 31800, Disability amount transferred from a dependant.
Make sure that you are following all the correct steps as stated in this TurboTax article.

Thank you for that info. it was not very explanatory while doing the return. we endered our dependant, said yes to the DTC but did nto see anywhere to do the rest of teh steps. A more guided approach would have been beneficial.

I guess we need to refile now.
