I downloaded my tax forms CRA and RQ, like I do every year without issue. When trying to use NETFILE for my federal return I am getting the error in the subject line: "Because you entered an amount for Additional CPP/QPP contributions on the T4 in boxes 16A or 17A, you also need to enter an amount for CPP/QPP contributions on the T4 in corresponding boxes 16 or 17."

I have entered an amount in line 16 (CPP Contributions) and 16A (CPP2 Additional contributions). I dont have contributions to QPP so both 17 and 17A are empty. Obviously my province of employement is listed as Ontario.

This needs to be fixed ASAP since, to my knowledge, nobody living on QC and working on ONT can use this software this year to file until it is fixed. I am very dissapointed, and if this isnt resolved before the tax deadline Im going to be seeking a refund on the amount paid to use Turbotax.

Has this been resolved? If not, is there an estimated time of fix. I was given the same error, but was told it was a CRA issue, which is not the case.

Nope.

They've known about this issue, judging by other troubleshooting posts, for about 3 weeks now, but have only commented that they're working on a fix over the last 24hrs or so. If they don't fix soon it I assume many of us will demand refunds at this point.

@al191912 Try removing the amount in box 17 if you lived in QC but worked in another province.

We are coming very close to the deadline of April 30, 2025. I have tried to remove the information in box 17, nothing changes and it will not allow me to transmit. Please advise on a solution to this error. I live in Quebec and work in Ontario.

@SteveCor If you are working in Ontario and leaving in Quebec, did you received a Releve 1 from your employer with your T4?

Not all but some employers from Ontario will issue a Releve 1 for their Quebec resident employees.

Are you using TurboTax Online or Desktop.
