Confirming your CNIL Automatic Calculation in TurboTax Online 2024

For those of you wondering how you check in your 2024 TurboTax Online to be sure that TurboTax automatically calculated your CNIL correctly (re: locked thread from last year (see: CNIL no longer included the downloaded PDF return in TurboTax Online 2023) I did this:

When CNIL was available in the 2022 downloaded return PDF... I used the 2022 return as a base start point:

2022 Return: T936 Line 18 + T936 Line 17 = T936 Line 19 (..the standard calculation)

When CNIL was no longer available in the 2023 download PDF - but which gets reported in CNIL in 2024:

Calculation:

2023 Return: 2022 T936 Line 19 (per above base start point) + 2023 T1 Line 12200, Line 12100... basically everything visible you can get at in T936 Part 2 but which is visible in your main 2023 T1 PDF) = CNIL Line 19 For Prior Years, As Viewed Online in TurboTax 2024 Online

It's the best thing I could think of to confirm it.

I wanted to confirm that what I am currently seeing in 2024 TurboTax Online's automatic calculation of what will be my reported T936 Line 19 this year for "prior years" was correct, and it was.

No idea if this year CNIL will be fixed and re-included in the 2024 PDF, but it's at least sort of a way to confirm TurboTax's automatic calculation is correct - since you can't see what you filed as your CNIL last year.

The T936 is included in TurboTax Online's PDF archive for 2024.

Thanks for this update @TurboTax_Susan. In my TurboTax Online's PDF archive for tax year 2024, the CNIL T936 is still missing, but I assume that is because I Netfiled in March, several weeks before this fix was announced here.

I assume the same fix is present in TurboTax Online 2025, and I will once again see my CNIL T936 in my downloaded 2025 PDF after I Netfile this March 2026.

The CNIL T936 is indeed available in the PDF archive in TurboTax Online 2024. Printing/PDF generation is not available yet for 2025, but I believe the form should be included.
