    <description>&lt;P&gt;While I am completing my return I get an error code TT401 "An error occurred while saving your return".&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have checked that I have sufficient disk space so the issue seems to be related to write protection of the device disk.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have noticed on previous years' TurboTax software that I always get a message "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?", when I open the program.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I do not get this message when I open the 2025 version. I suspect this may be causing the problem.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Is this a software issue that can be corrected with an update?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If not, would deleting the software from my device and reloading it possibly correct this error.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Please advise. Thanks&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

By default, TurboTax Desktop saves file to the Documents folder, in the location C:\Users\username\Documents\TurboTax\20XX&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color:windowtext;font-size:11pt;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
