Unfortunately, TurboTax Online does not provide a direct way to claim the 50% deduction (Line 24900) without a T4 slip. The software's logic is hard-coded to look for T-slip boxes (such as T4 Box 39 or 41) to initiate that specific deduction.

I was on the phone to support until they cut me off after an hour and didn't call back

I am using the version on my tablet, to file my Canadian taxes

I received stock options, not through payroll. Therefore it is not on my T4, box 38 etc.

I have exercised these options so I need to file the income on them. This is easy as I can do this in the "other income" line (FMV when exercised less the grant price). I also used these line for the income from my RSUs.

However, the issue comes with the deductible. I qualify for the 50% stock option deductible. So I need to be able to input this so it flows to line 24,900. However there is no form or option to fill out a line item that would flow properly.

So right now I have the income, say $1,000 , but I need to be able to put in the stock option deductible (50%, so $500), so that it flows to 24,900. This is not possible I don't think. Please help. Is it version issue? Do I need to upgrade or something? It's very unclear but when I spoke to support they seemed to understand the issue but confused how to fix it.

No, there is no way to do this without a T4.

From the TurboTax Do It Yourself (Online) help files: Your claim at line 24900 for tax year 2025 depends on which box was used on your T4 slip to report the securities option deduction.

TurboTax is the same way.

Thank you for your reply - but I would like some further information.

Is this a limitation of TurboTax entirely i.e. I should find another alternative to file my taxes?

Under "Other Deductions" there should be a line for "Stock Option Deductible" or something similar to this, that when populated would flow to line 24900. Is this not a possibility at all?

Thanks.
