Maximum pensionable earnings and maximum and maximum EI earnings

I have 2 T4 slips, the first T4 indicates EI earning amount of 65700 and maximum pensionable earning amount of 81200

The second slip indicates EI earning amount of 44565 and maximum pensionable earning amount of 44565.

I thought that TurboTax would know that the total EI should be 65700 max. therefore the premiums paid ($730.93) on the second T4 slip would be refunded due to overpayment and the same with the premiums paid ($2,591.53) for the over payment on the pensionable earnings.

Is my understanding wrong??

Yes, TurboTax will calculate EI overpayments and enter it on Line 45000 – Employment insurance overpayment. You can see what is being calculated by looking at the form Form T2204 (or Schedule 10 if you are in Quebec).
