Are the T1198 forms mandatory to file even if I'm receiving a substantial return for 2018? Seems like it's mostly beneficial if taxes are owed and not if I have return?

I completed my 2018 income tax return with Turbotax online software and with all my information combined with merging what CRA has which are identical resulted in a substantial return. However my question is I have a T1198 slip but from what I can understand is that for the most part CRA only counts it if I owed taxes and not really beneficial for someone with a return. So do I have the option to choose not to use or file it, or is it mandatory?

Yes, you should complete and file the T1198.  Please see the following FAQ for instructions on how to contact TurboTax Live Assist and Review.
