As an employed cook, can you claim the expense of knives and if so, where does it go?

If you are an employee that is required to purchase your own tools or supplies that relate to your job, you will need your employer to complete and sign a T2200 - Declaration of Conditions of Employment form that states you had to pay for these supplies.

Once you have this form, you can make a claim for "Employment Expenses" which is reported on a T777 form of your tax return.
