Can a teacher that has been required to wear a mask all year while teaching deduct the cost of the masks?

Thank you for choosing TurboTax,

Unfortunately, masks, face shields, and hand sanitizers don't qualify as tax deductions.

However,  the cost of Personal Protective Equipment can be a tax-deductible medical expense for individuals — but only if they have a doctor's prescription and a specific health condition, such as a "severe chronic respiratory ailment" or "a severe chronic immune system disregulation."
