Can I file self-employment return next year? Not ready with complete info. Been self-employed until May 2017. Need to meet deadline for my individual tax return.

If you are self-employed (with an unincorporated business) then you only file one tax return – your personal tax return, which INCLUDES your self-employment income. However, if you do have business/self-employment income, you only have to pay your balance owing on or before April 30, 2018. You don’t have to submit your completed tax return until June 15th.

So do what you can on your return, and pay any taxes you know you own now. Then finish and submit your return before June 15th.
