Claiming employment expenses from own corporation

So what would you define "shaky"? Is the small single bonus then not defining me as an employee, or is it just one of those "gray areas"? Just trying to understand the rules so I can work with them, though per our conversation I've learned that pure dividend payment would not classify me as an employee.
