Do you need the self-employed package for both the husband and wife if only the wife has an Etsy business and writes books? Can you not use the Standard?

You can use any version of TurboTax to prepare your returns, including Standard. However, TurboTax Self-Employed has an expanded Self-Employment section, with more step by step assistance than our other products have.

When you prepare your returns with your spouse, that counts as 2 returns. You both will be using the same version, so you'll both pay the same price – even if one spouse didn’t make full use of the product chosen. This goes for any TurboTax product, not just for TurboTax Online Self-Employed.
