Full-time students travel expenses

Hi, I moved to Canada on August 2017, and since then I have been a full-time student. I checked the requirements to claim travel expenses and I believe I am eligible for that. Thus, I would like to apply for reimbursement of my travel expenses, which I made in 2017. Since I made that payment in 2017, should I complete T1-M form and mail it to the tax agency based on my income tax in 2017, which is separate from this year's tax files? or can I attach it to my this year's (2018) income tax file? Thanks

Moving expenses pertaining to a move to attend school are only deductible against your taxable scholarship/bursary income. These are not refundable expenses - they only lower your taxable income.

If you moved to attend school and had taxable scholarship/bursary income in 2017, you'll need to file an adjustment to your 2017 return.
