Can I claim tax back for work boots?
Generally the answer is no. Cra provides a Working income tax credit and an $1,127 Canada Employment amount, so they don't look kindly on claims of that nature. Having said that, though, a large number of self-employed people input work boots under safety equipment, which is more generic. An employee, has not got that leeway.
